I'm quite happy flying around, taking pictures of airports, and tossing them up here. It gives me another excuse to go flying and explore new places (not that I really need one...). But I can't be everywhere. Most of all, I can't make it to every single far-flung corner of the Nothwest to shoot photos of airports -- at least not as often as I'd like. That's where you come in.
I'm asking for your help. Especially if you are based in (or are flying to) places that I don't get to very frequently. I'm based in Seattle, so it's generally pretty simple and convenient for me to get photos of airports around Western Washington. But I rarely get the chance to fly to southern Oregon, or just about anyplace in Idaho or British Columbia. If you fly in any of these areas, please consider bringing along a camera and snapping some photos of the airports you fly by. Then send 'em in to me and I'll try to use them in an upcoming Name That Northwest Airport photo challenge. It'll make this a better, more enjoyable exercise for all of us. You can send email with photos as an attachment here: namethatnwairport@yahoo.com. Note: This mailbox has a limited storage capacity, so please don't send a large number of big files all at once. I can handle virtually any file format. JPEG files usually work well, but try not to use too much compression. Also, the files do not need to be very high resolution -- remember, it's for use on the web, not to be printed on the cover of National Geographic. ;) Caution: Flying around and doing single-pilot photo shoots can be a bit tricky. Please be careful out there, use your head, and don't put yourself at risk to get a photo. Your photo contributions are greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping out! ![]() |
