Methow Valley State, Winthrop, WA (S52)
Correctly identified first by Dave Brown.

Nestled in the beautiful Methow Valley in north-central Washington, Methow Valley State Airport was formerly known as "Intercity" (well, it is between the teeming "cities" of Twisp and Winthrop). Originally constructed for the US Forest Service, the field is a major center for wildfire firefighting efforts (so keep a sharp eye out for heavy firefighting aircraft in the summer months), and is home to a large smokejumper base (if they're not busy, ask for a quick look in the parachute loft - it's pretty amazing what these daring guys do). An interesting place to visit, and the airport's location on the east side of the state's northernmost VFR route through the mountain passes also makes it a good stop for fuel while going over the North Cascades.
