Crosswinds, Clayton, WA (C72)
Correctly identified first by Dave Brown.

Sitting just west of Highway 395 about 25 nm north of Spokane, Crosswinds looked pretty sad and run-down when I flew over it (so bad, in fact, that it made me feel a little better about the state of my lawn at home!). Ostensibly open to the public, this airport with parallel turf runways - one of which is 3800 feet long - has been NOTAMed as "prior permission only" for ages due to "security concerns" (perhaps they're worried about an unscheduled Al Queda visit?).

When I flew over Crosswinds recently, this sure looked like another airport that was circling the drain, and I wouldn't be too surprised if it disappeared from the chart one of these days. So airport collectors, you might want to bag this one before it's too late (but call first to find out about the runway conditions - and so they don't think they're getting a visit from Osama).
