Payette Municipal Airport (S75) - Overview
« on: November 25, 2012, 06:47:10 AM »
Introduction:
Payette is located in Western Idaho between Weiser, ID and Ontario, OR and is just across the Snake River from Oregon.  There is a single asphalt runway 5000 ft by 50 ft located within a golf course.  I haven't landed here.  We scoped it out from the ground on Thanksgiving weekend 2012.

Photos:

There is a courtesy car:

and self-serve fuel (100LL and MOGas):

There are 3 tie downs located near the courtesy car and fuel.

It looks like a nice place to stop for fuel and a meal.

Thanks for the PIREP, Lynn - always appreciate these!

I overflew this field last year - didn't land, but did get a photo.  Will add that shortly to your Overview post.

Thanks again!

So....courtesy car, mogas, surrounded by a golf course with a restaurant on the course.  I think this has got to be a nice place to visit (especially for those who golf).

Thanks for the tweaking and photo addition!  There is a weird spot at the bottom of the post where the airport diagram and the google maps photo overlap.  (Maybe just delete the google maps image now that you added a better picture.)

On second thought, now that I looked at the aerial photo, it might be better if I didn't play golf here.  My bad slice from several tee boxes could end up on the runway.

I'm surprised by husband didn't get a picture but there is a small green building (in the grass near airport road on google maps) that is painted "Golf Course Restroom" in large letters.  I've often seen airports and golf courses closely associated but not as intimately as in Payette.   ;)
