Forum maintenance - and downtime - coming up
« on: September 04, 2012, 08:33:22 PM »
Just a heads-up to let everyone know that in a couple of weeks, the server that the forum is hosted on will be moving (physically). During this time, the forum will be offline and unavailable.

This work is currently scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 20, beginning at 5:00 pm PST.  The downtime is expected to be about 4 hours.  That's an estimate, and of course it could be offline for less time, or it might take longer - we'll have to see.

Although this will be a minor inconvenience, I have to say we've enjoyed pretty solid reliability here for a long time.  Hopefully the migration to the new server will only improve things (then again you never know....so if things get glitchy, please be patient).

If/when I get more details I'll share them.  For now, just make a mental note that things will go dark here temporarily in a couple weeks.  When that happens, don't panic, we should be back in a few hours.

Thanks.

I'll be offering a 12-Step program for members who may need help during this troubling time.

Promise?  Cause I can't afford Al's 12 step program.  Especially Step 1 since I'm an airplane owner...

Reminder: This is coming up on Thursday evening. Don't be too shocked if things appear funky here if you try accessing the forum sometime early Thursday evening.

Keeping my fingers crossed hoping that the downtime is short and it fires back up smoothly.

Reminder: We will be offline for a while tonight.

I expect things to come back online sometime later tonight, but we won't know until that happens.  If we go dark for a while, don't panic.  We'll be back as soon as we can.  See you after we transit the far side.

Whew!

There was only one lost soul that had to cry on my shoulder via Facebook.  He's OK now after taking my 13 step program.'

Ahh - so that was it.  I thought that maybe someone had given Al a screwdriver again.
