News: “Flying is like good music: it elevates the spirit and it's an exhilarating freedom. It's not a thrill thing or an adrenaline rush; it's engaging in a process that takes focus and commitment." - Harrison Ford

FREE VFR Workshop
« on: April 04, 2017, 11:45:46 AM »
VFR Workshop on Saturday, April 8 at 10am at Rainier Flight Service.  Join fellow pilots in an open forum dedicated to VFR flying.  Ask questions and share your experiences in a relaxed, social setting.  This monthly 2-hour forum is FREE and moderated by a Rainier Flight Instructor to ensure accurate information and interpretation of regulations, policies and safety.

The topic this month is Airworthiness.  Is your aircraft safe to fly?  Is your aircraft legal to fly?  You would think these are simple questions but often times are more complicated to answer than you think.  What if you are away from your home airport and cancelling is not convenient?  How do you determine if a discrepancy is safe and/or legal?  This open forum discussion is moderated by a professional flight instructor and will present multiple scenarios where a normal preflight has more to it than initially appears.
