The USS Enterprise, which sailed into history as the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, will be decommissioned Feb. 3, 2017 the Navy announced Wednesday.

The reactor will come to Hanford, and sit with about 30 others. (about 20 miles away!!!, but downstream)

Hanford stores the encased reactor vessels in an open pit in the middle of the reservation. This is for arms control verification by satellites. You can see it clearly with Google Earth at 46.565672° -119.519971° Imagery is from 5/2016. I count 128.
