Desert Aire (M94) Fly-In Breakfast, Saturday, June 17th, 7AM-11AM

We were pretty much rained out last year, which is funny, since we have the dryest rain gauge in Washington.

We still served 500 breakfasts, as the community supports us as well. We normally have about 50 aircraft show up.

I hope to see you ALL here!!

Hi Karl:
I'm looking at the green patch at the west end of the runway, I assume that's your grass strip.
Scales out to not much over 600' by my estimation.
A bit short for most of us except for ultralights, and Supercubs or similar.
Surprised you didn't manicure it all the way to the turnoff--
that woulda made it a bit over 1000', and a lot more usable.

That's not a runway.................it is a dust mitigation area. ???

I have seen an airplane or two on it however!

We are a non-NPIAS airport, so please bring your bulldozer, backhoe, 1200 feet of 4' irrigation pipe. 10 more sprinkler heads, manpower for 300 man/hours................and $20,000 cash. I've now officially put you in charge! For the above we will promise not to ever charge you a landing fee.

See you at the fly-in.

The runway is up to WADOT Aviation standards, although we are not a state airport. We are a municipality and are the only airport in Grant County Airport District #1.

We've been blessed with many very dedicated individuals, one who wrote the grant requests...................which were onerous. They have passed the baton to people like me, who best understand killing weeds.

The Fly-In Breakfast, June 17th @ 7AM, is the biggest community event in Desert Aire. And fact, we are an airport community first........at least that was developers credo, who brought buyers here in a DC-3.
