Wow! Another PNWF Forum Milestone!
« on: October 21, 2016, 08:00:18 AM »
Wow!  The PNWF forum just reached another milestone.  We have been operating on the Simple Machines format for 10 years.

Of course, the history of PNWF goes back farther than that.  Our fearless leader, David H. set up this forum under another operating system in about 2001.

David set this up to provide a home for Pacific Northwest aviators to gather and talk about the places we all go to and issues important to us.  Oh, and also to get away from the wacky commentary and flame wars of the Usenet rec.aviation.piloting newsgroup.  Yep, this forum dates back a long time.  In fact, David, Tony R, and I met on Usenet.  (No, it's not like internet dating!)

Unlike Facebook, Pacific Northwest Flying.com is a fully-moderated, no advertising, no personal information-sharing, privately-funded, privately-hosted forum.  In the past 10 years, we have 111,145 Posts (yes, I've read them all), in 13,332 Topics by 3,196 Members (many more were generated in 5 years under the old system, but not carried over to the new site).

What a great place to be!  Thanks, David and all of you.

Well done, folks.  PNWF.com is a great resource for the NW.

I don't do facebook or other national sized forums because there is just too much information that is irrelevant to my everyday world. I always figure if those of you who do follow those other internet sources find something that you feel is interesting than it will show up here.
This forum has always been the best place for the most important information..... Thanks to all of you for making the Pacific Northwest smaller and friendlier.

Thanks to you all for keeping this great site going!  I really appreciate the fact that you welcome any aviation related  posts, not just things related to the PNW, like the Facebook group, many of us belong too, as well.
Al, I think you deserve a nice weekend over here on the West (left) side!

Thanks, Marty..I did.  Sadly, there were no C-172's open at Alternate Air this weekend, or I would have scared all my flying buddies by occupying some of that Puget Sound airspace.

Instead, I went to the Museum of Flight then floated in the pool at my son's Snoqualmie Pass condo.
