Embeding YouTube Videos Into Forum Posts
« on: February 11, 2014, 09:51:20 PM »
It's been a while since I have done this in the forum, and I went back to the FAQ to refresh my memory about the flash codes that this system requires.  I also looked at a few posts I made many moons ago containing YouTube videos (all of which seem to be still working).

But tonight, for the life of me, I could not get the right URL address out of YouTube to have it embed into my post. I tried cutting the URL in the command line, getting a different code out of the share function, and even right clicking to glean codes out of the pop-up tag. But none of the URLs that I got would produce a proper embedded YouTube video in my post.

Has something changed on YouTube where we can no longer post embedded videos here? I looked at the FAQ from 2009 and wondering is there is some new procedure that I am missing.

Eric: What? YouTube has rated X videos on its site? I hadn't heard that.

Look at the formatting for this.  The characters following the v= are the You Tube Video.  Use +quote to see the actual text.
