Moderator Reminder
« on: November 13, 2017, 11:50:09 AM »
It is  a pleasure to moderate this group, as almost everyone here makes it so easy, because we all treat each other with courtesy and respect..
Unfortunately every few months someone joins who posts offensive comments, and seems to thrive on stirring conflict.  One such individual joined a few months ago, made several offensive posts and then went quiet for a while. This week he came back with the same attitude, accused a member of posting false statistics and made a highly offensive and libelous charge against our friends at FATPNW.  As a result of those comments I have banned him from participating in the group. I then contacted the moderator at FATPNW and advised him of the charge. He advised me that he had similar issues with this same individual and had also banned him.

Our members who have been here for a while certainly don't need reminders about how to conduct themselves. I have however approved quite a few new members over the past few weeks, and they are not necessarily aware of our zero spam/zero tolerance of offensive posts policy.

Thanks to everyone for helping keep this a fun, informative forum.

I've been good.  The only thing Tony has banned me from is his wine cellar.

The review and work you do is appreciated.  I'm with Al, hopefully I've been good as well.  :)

Thank you Tony for stepping up and keeping this forum the best of the best.
I did read the original post and refused to respond because it was a waste of my time. After reading the post it reminded me of the saying: "Mama said, if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all."

Thanks Tony, and Al and David and any other moderators I may have missed for keeping this site civil and still the best general aviation forum I follow.

Speaking for myself--I need reminders to keep me in line. Ask my wife.

When I see other PNW pilots posting on other forums in which I participate I direct them here. Not sure if he was one of those, but if so, I apologize.

The earlier posts didn't bother me, but I did find the most recent one (apparently the straw that broke the camel's back) offensive.

I have been away from the site a few days. Glad I missed this. Although I have only met a few members, I have always considered us friends.
